Inland Car Company
915 First Street
Newberg, Oregon
My '51 Willys wagon may have come from this dealer. The previous owner, who has lived in Newberg since the 1940's, purchased the wagon locally from the original owner. The photos below were taken on June 6, 2003. All that remains is a run down lot, presently in use as the Newberg Park & Sell. The building to the left, with the yellow soffit, is a separate used car dealership which appeared to be out of business:
No buildings remain at this address. The "CARS" sign belongs to the adjacent car lot:
Looking towards the street from the rear of the lot, tattered remains of linoleum on the concrete floor can be seen behind the wheels of the semi:
Towards the rear of the lot was a weathered Ford pickup doing sentry duty in front of an equally weathered sign:
Note the long shadows in the pictures. It was nearly sundown, about time to head over to the 99W Drive-In Theatre. This is one of the few drive-in theatres left in the area and well worth a visit.
