Christensen Motors once had a showroom on the ground floor of the old Broadway Hotel at the northeast corner of Broadway and Burnside. A Subway restaurant is now doing business at this address. The rest of the former hotel is subsidized housing and has been renamed the Helen M. Swindells building. There is apparently an extremely powerful wierdo magnet somewhere in the immediate vicinity. If you like seeing untold bedroll-laden vagrants stumbling around, then this is your kind of place. Needless to say, these were drive-by photographs, taken between downpours on Sept. 8, 2003:
